School has been really ako recently , except I really wish time would like yknow stop so I could breathe easily for that moment . Wait a min , I'm always breathing , what am I talking ?!?!??!?!??!
Whatever it is , life's really abroing , stupid I hate it when everyone's studying and I'm like watching teevee slacking and all , why do I not feel worried ???? Yeah , ask myself that , HAHA .So I've plenty of work to do but I'm not sure if I'm able to complete everything by today , I'll try though . I'm kinda pleased that I didn't take a nappie today , I wanted to but yeah I controlled myself by ....... Watching the television ( HAHAHAHA )
Basically , Mrs lau let us watch some videos about the idk whats the title for it . But its just about some mistreating the farm animals kinda show . It was really really horrible , scary as well as gruesome . I kinda want to be a vegetarian but I know I'm not able to be one for long . It was really horrible , trust me . She also did talk about the mad cow disease and the bird flu ... I'm aware of such things but I somehow forgot what they are and all . So out of curiosity and free time and cause I don't wanna study , I'm doing some research now . I'll putting some of the ' Omg ' information on my blog too so everyone can see !!!!! Mad Cow Disease :
1) It's called mad cow disease because it affects a cow's nervous system, causing a cow to act strangely and lose control of its ability to do normal things, such as walk.
2) However, experts have found a link between BSE and a rare brain condition that affects people, called variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD). Researchers believe that people who eat beef from cows that have BSE are at risk of developing a form of CJD. ( So guys , don't eat too much beef now ok ? : > )
3) When people have CJD, cells in the brain die until the brain eventually has a "sponge-like" appearance. During this time, people with the disease gradually lose control of their mental and physical capabilities.
Bird Flu ( Avian ) :
1) Avian flu is caused by a form of influenza virus that usually only infects birds and sometimes infects pigs.
2) The people who became infected with the H5N1 strain of avian flu caught it directly from birds. It has not been proven that H5N1
can be spread from person to person.
3) Experts are concerned that the H5N1 strain of bird flu could mutate (change) into a new form that can rapidly spread from person to person. This has happened in past flu outbreaks and has caused what is known as a
pandemic. A pandemic is a global outbreak of a disease that causes serious illness in people and spreads quickly throughout populations.
4) It's unlikely that a person who gets infected with the H5N1 strain of the avian flu will spread it to other people. All the human cases of bird flu so far have happened because people got it directly from infected birds.
5) The symptoms of bird flu in people tend to be similar to the typical flu: fever, cough, sore throat, muscle aches. But this flu can also lead to eye infections, pneumonia, and severe coughing and breathing problems.
6) A pet bird could get avian flu if it is exposed to another bird that's carrying the virus. Here are some things you can do to protect your bird and yourself:
- Keep your bird and its food and water inside, away from any place where it could be exposed to infected migrating or domestic birds. Don't allow your bird to drink or eat from ponds or other places outdoors that migrating birds may have flown over.
- Keep your pet bird's cage clean.
- Wash your hands after handling your pet bird, cleaning its cage, or after having any contact with your bird's secretions (like saliva, feces, or urine).
7) It's safe to eat properly cooked chicken, turkey, and any other poultry in the United States. Heat can destroy flu viruses, so cook poultry so that the temperature of the meat reaches at least 158° Fahrenheit (70° Celsius). Do not eat uncooked or undercooked poultry or poultry products.
